Processed locally, in memory, and discarded. ModeGuard reads key events to work out what state your machine is in. It does not write them to disk, it does not build a history, and it does not transmit them anywhere.
There is no account and no server. The app does not sign you in, and there is no backend for your typing to be sent to even if it wanted one.
The hook exists to detect state, not to record input. That is the whole difference between this and a keylogger, and we would rather say it plainly on the front page than bury it in a policy.
The rescue buffer is the one exception, and it is small. To rewrite a mistyped line, ModeGuard has to remember the last few words you typed. That buffer lives in memory only, is capped, and is cleared the moment you use it or move on.
